MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 25 June 2024 between the Manyawar Kanshiram Institute of Tourism Management (MKITM), Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, represented by Ms. Eesha Priya, IAS, Secretary, MKITM, and The Naturalist School (TNS), Bangalore, represented by Ms. Prakruthi Subramanya, Project Manager, TNS. The MoU establishes a collaborative framework for skill development, professional development, and capacity building in the field of nature guiding and eco-tourism in Uttar Pradesh. The collaboration aims to equip youth, nature guides, and eco-tourism service providers with essential knowledge and practical skills required for nature-based tourism. In addition to training aspiring nature guides, the MoU emphasizes professional development for existing nature guides and eco-tourism service providers, as well as capacity strengthening of frontline forest and tourism staff across protected areas in the state. The initiative seeks to promote responsible and sustainable tourism practices, minimize environmental impact, and foster conservation awareness and appreciation of the natural and rural heritage of Uttar Pradesh.
